I just figured out how to build my own software (and it's ridiculously easy)
Video proof inside: From idea to working tool in 15 minutes
Do you ever say, "Gosh, I wish there was an app for that?"
Well, now you can create it.
In this email, I'll show you exactly how.
You’ll find this useful if:
You spend mindless hours on admin tasks that generate zero revenue.
Your team members are drowning in operational busy work.
You're manually copying and pasting between tools, switching tabs like a maniac.
What if I told you that in 15 minutes, you could eliminate those friction points forever?
I just did exactly this and discovered something extraordinary.
Let me give you just ONE example of what's possible (and I'm only scratching the surface!)
The tool I built: "Leanne's Media House Stack"
I have a messy content problem: daily podcasts, blog posts, scattered ideas across platforms, and no central way to access, cross-reference, or repurpose any of it.
Sound familiar?
So I described my ideal solution to AI, and 15 minutes later, I had a custom tool that:
Syncs all my content automatically
Pulls in every podcast episode from my RSS feed
Imports all blog posts with one click
Captures random ideas on the go into a private vault
Imagine taking any random thought, like "I tried Google AI Studio for 15 minutes and was blown away", dropping it into your vault, and instantly seeing:
Different headline variations
Social media post options
Ways to monetise the idea
Now, the current output is pretty basic – but that's not the point.
The point is that this is just the beginning.
What I built in 15 minutes could evolve into something incredibly powerful with a bit more refinement.
Don't believe me? Watch my walk-through video
(eek… first time I recorded something like this. LMK if you find it useful?)
Here’s the walkthrough video (hit Play)
DIY software development in 15mins (seriously, anyone can do this)
This is called Vibe Coding. Let me know if you’ve tried it already?
All you do is describe what you want, and AI builds it.
The process is simple:
Step 1: Identify your friction points
Pay attention to what annoys you daily. What makes you think "I wish there was an app/tool/solution for that"?
Maybe it's:
Repetitive copy-paste tasks
Scattered information you can't easily access
Manual processes that eat your time
(OR, you can Let AI suggest ideas (optional but brilliant)
If you use ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini regularly, they know your work patterns. Just ask: "Knowing what you know about me, what tools should I build that might help my business?"
This is exactly how I started.
That throwaway question led to the "Leanne’s Media House Stack" concept in under 3 minutes.
Step 2: Head to Google AI Studio
Go to https://aistudio.google.com/
This is your sandpit.
Click the "Build" button on the left. Describe what you want in plain English, and watch it create your tool.
Seriously, just give it a go. It’s free. If nothing else, it’s a great party trick.
Step 3: Iterate through conversation
Here's where it gets fun. The tool generates code, shows you the working app, and you can refine it just by talking:
"Can you make the headlines more punchy?" "
“Add a feature that sorts by date"
“Sync daily Google Research Trends related to x audience and give me prompts related to this”
"Make this button bigger"
It's like having a developer who instantly understands your vision and implements changes in real-time.
SO GOOD!
Okay, so this is less about my average tool…and more about the possibilities
Leanne's Media House Stack is just one example.
The work applications are limitless:
"Translation" tool that converts executive decisions into team-friendly communications
A workshop bank that takes all your workshop run (SPARK) sheets and slides, categorises them, also links to a workshop vault, so you can design a session with a few clicks
Proposal recycler that adapts your best winning proposals for new clients
Customer inquiry manager, inventory checker, or segment-specific marketing message generator, maintenance plans, I could go on and on and on.
PLUS gosh, the possibilities outside of work are INFINTE.
One idea I’m playing with is having my own Hughesy Health Hub.
It’s a one stop shop for all of my health data, such as Oura ring stats, recent blood test results (and then links to healthy recipes targeting what I need), Apple and Peloton workouts, Health Insurance docs (including a list of preferred suppliers)… Along with automated reminders on when to book appointments, check-ups, the works.
There’s so much potential in this. I could go on and on…
Every friction point in your day is an invitation to build a custom solution.
Anytime you’re having to amalgamate tools, research, data is an opportunity to custom build a solution.
Your next step
Here's your challenge: Give it a go right now.
Pick one task you do frequently that annoys you.
Go to https://aistudio.google.com/ click "Build," and describe your ideal solution. See what happens.
Keep experimenting: I schedule 30 minutes weekly just to play with this stuff / keep my head up and see what’s on the horizon.
If you're a paid subscriber, watch your inbox next week for my next video sharing more projects I’ve custom built, as well as how I set up AI, so it sounds more like me, and less-like AI.
See you next week,

Well there goes the weekend! Epic, amazing share as always. You started me on the AI journey and I'm so grateful for everything you share. Thanks!
I'll try this soon and see what I can create too. I'll share back what I learn @leanne
